About our Speaker
A missionary called to the worship movement, Ian's heart is to raise, equip, and inspire a generation of worshippers who would carry God's supernatural presence into every sphere of life, society, and culture. He believes the coming great revival will be marked by an increase in the activity of worship and worshippers arising from every tribe and tongue.
Ian is currently based in Awaken Generation as a songwriter and worship leader, and oversees the worship school and the missions arm of the ministry.
Dwelling Place of God
This teaching reminds us that worship is not random or casual — it is intentional, structured, and centred on God’s design.
The tabernacle shows us that approaching God is a journey. There is one way in, and it begins with separation and consecration. Worship is not about coming as we are and staying as we are, but about being set apart for Him.
At the very entrance stands the altar of sacrifice. This tells us something foundational:
worship always begins with sacrifice. Before there was music or instruments, worship was expressed through obedience and surrender. Like Abraham, true worship is costly — it requires us to lay something down.
Today, we no longer bring physical sacrifices, but we are still called to bring a sacrifice of praise (Hebrews 13:15). We never come empty-handed. We come with our hearts, our obedience, our offering to God.
And just as the fire on the altar was never meant to go out, our worship is not meant to be occasional. It is meant to be continual.
The priests had to tend the fire daily — clearing ashes, adding wood, keeping it burning. In the same way, we are responsible for stewarding our own fire.
The question then becomes: what fuels our worship?

About Awaken Generation
