About our Speaker
Rev Dr Joshua Sudharman is currently serving as Director of Training for the Anglican Church, overseeing all training matters, especially for church workers and pastors. He is also Chairman of the Education Board, overseeing all Anglican schools and preschools.
He was until recently the Senior Pastor of St John’s–St Margaret’s Church and led the church through a project to construct a nursing home and preschool
“Hallowed be Your name”
This teaching draws our attention to a vital truth: worship is shaped by how we perceive God’s identity.
When we say “hallowed be Your name,” we are engaging with something far more profound than routine language. Unlike our names, which often serve as simple identifiers, God’s name reveals His very essence.
It is not symbolic or aspirational; it is a direct expression of His nature — eternal, self-existent, and completely consistent. From His revelation as “I AM WHO I AM,” we see that His name carries the weight of His glory throughout all time. This reframes worship as something deeply intentional, grounded in awe and understanding.
To honour His name is to acknowledge that every aspect of who He is — His mercy, justice, patience, and faithfulness — is perfectly unified. We do not approach Him lightly or out of habit, but with an awareness of His holiness.
As His name and His glory cannot be separated, our worship must reflect both truth and reverence in response to who He has revealed Himself to be.
