To God Be The Glory

There are poignant moments in your life, moments of spiritual epiphanies where you are awakened to the fact that you are no longer the same person you were before. There has been a shift of sorts, a wellspring of revelation that has bubbled over and into your entire being. An awakening.

This is what it feels like as God writes a new chapter in Awaken Generation’s story – the To God Be the Glory live worship album. It feels like we’ve reached that seasonal turning and matured into the next phase of our metamorphosis, delving deeper into the greater destiny God has for us and becoming more and more like Christ.

The Israelites once built stones of remembrance at the times and places in which they saw a mighty move of God. I see these songs in the same way - as markers that the coming generations would use to remember the move of God. Songs of surrender, songs of thanksgiving and praise, songs of profound revelation and insight into the heart and holiness of our God - songs that will lead generations after us into mighty encounters with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Songs as stones.

Just as a craftsman engraves finishing touches to his work of art to create a masterpiece and sits back to enjoy the work of his hands, I sit back and enjoy the masterpiece God has released through the labour of the AG community. These songs have gone to greater depths of revelation, of sonic exploration, artistic expression, and collaboration like never before.

The reason for our labour is for the sole purpose of seeing Jesus gain His reward of extravagant worship from every nation. This is Awaken Generation’s contribution to the symphony of worship being released from every tribe, tongue, and people group along with all of creation.

We pray these songs will produce a great awakening in you. May your spirit man arise as you ingest these songs. May it draw you closer to the heartbeat of God; may it awaken you from slumber and propel you into your call and destiny in Jesus. May it cause your heart to burst with extravagant praise and worship to our King of kings and Lord of lords.
