About our Speaker
Delphne carries a heart for the nations and the unity of the Church. Having loved songwriting from childhood and served on church worship teams since the age of 10, she has written musicals and sung in choirs through her formative years. Trained as a literature teacher, her passion for words and storytelling now finds expression in worship music.
Today, she is living out her calling in Awaken Generation, helping the ministry in marketing & communications. She also serves as a songwriting mentor and one of the songwriters in Awaken Generation (AG), equipping others to write songs that would inspire & unite the global Church in our love for Jesus.
Finding Purpose in Surrender
This teaching confronts a subtle but powerful struggle — the need to control.
What often looks like high standards or a pursuit of excellence can quietly become something else entirely, shaping how we treat others and even ourselves.
When control takes over, it doesn’t produce life; it suppresses it. Instead of allowing growth, it forces outcomes, cutting short the intentional work that God is doing within people. At its core, the need to control is driven by fear and reinforced through guilt, leading us to measure everything against unrealistic expectations.
Yet God’s way is different. He does not manipulate or dominate. He invites us into trust, giving us freedom even as He leads us.
Letting go of control is not passive — it requires honest repentance and a continual choice to release what was never ours to hold. As we do, we begin to see that excellence is not about perfection or comparison, but about faithfully living out what God has uniquely entrusted to us.
There is a quiet freedom in embracing our own lane, whether seen or unseen, knowing that purpose is found not in performance, but in surrender.

About Awaken Generation
We are a worship missions organisation based in Singapore with a vision to raise up a generation of worship leaders, ‘musicianaries’, songwriters, and creatives to impact the nations for Christ with the power of the gospel through worship and music.
