Course overview

Students can expect a mixture of analytical and practical lessons designed to bring greater awareness to the spectrum of the roles a worship drummer fulfils, marrying the technical with the heart of worship. Drummers will be given handles on how to be intentional and musical in playing, and how to grow in creativity on the drum set in a wide range of worship situations. As one of the instrument streams at Awaken Generation, students will be given the opportunity to collaborate with other streams during practical combined sessions such as band dynamics and arrangement.

  • Workshopping & Troubleshooting
  • Navigating Free Worship
  • Student-led Worship Night

Course topics are subject to change at the trainer’s discretion.

Entry requirements

  • Ability to play basic rhythms with decent timekeeping.
  • Own sticks and have regular access to drums or, at the very least, a practice pad.

Audition requirements

Submit one video performing one fast song AND one slow song from the following lists.

Fast · Choose one
