Course overview

The Dance Course at Awaken Generation is dedicated to cultivating a generation of worship dancers by establishing strong Biblical foundations through discipleship and mentorship within a passionate dance community. Our goal is to equip and empower dancers for the ministry of worship leading. This course aims to deepen and challenge your understanding of worship dance, activate your spirit, soul, body and expand your creative capacity through movement and knowledge.

Dance Year 1 alumni have the option to further their learning in Dance Year 2.

Course topics are subject to change at the trainer’s discretion.

Entry requirements

  • Applicants should be 18 years and above.
  • No professional training is required, but it is recommended that you have a love for movement, are able to move comfortably and are willing to grow in your skills.

Audition requirements

Submit only one video containing both parts:

  • A 1–2 minute sharing on why you want to join the Dance stream and your personal expectations.
  • A 2 minute dance / worship dance: improvise, flow spontaneously or perform choreography, and enjoy worshipping to a song of your choice. Be at ease; this helps us prepare uniquely for each cohort.

Worship tools such as flags, cloth and streamers are allowed, but we need to see you move without the tools as well. This should reflect your love for expressing through movement / dance abilities.

Ensure your video is accessible through a shared link with viewing permissions enabled.

Successful candidates will be invited to a one-to-one online meeting with the Dance Mentor. There will also be an onsite connect session in February 2027 with the mentor team before the school year commences.
